Owner/manager Cub Wright is the riding instructor at Prairie Oak, and the 2008 Canadian Open Cutting Champion, the first woman ever to hold the title. Cub is a world renowned trainer, coach and clinician and has had students travel from Switzerland, Japan, Germany, Australia, Sweden and Brazil to ride with her. Situated near Okotoks, 30 minutes south of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the ranch facilities include an indoor heated arena and barn, outdoor square and round pens and plenty of open ranch land on which to ride and enjoy your horse. The ranch staff also accesses the amazing riding country in the Alberta foothills for day rides with students.
The instructional program at Prairie Oak Ranch offers beginner, intermediate and advanced riders of all ages the opportunity to advance their riding skills, be it recreational or competitive.
The program is also geared to design individual programs for riders and horses to prepare them to be competitive in the cutting pen.
Education is not cheap but it sure beats ignorance
Fire takes out Kim Moores arena. Details not known at this time except they do have insurance and will be rebuilding soon. Such a tragedy as this is such a great arena and it is hard to find two greater hosts than Kim and Grant Moore.
