English Training

It’s your seat, not your style. Challenge yourself to truly ride with your seat and your feet. No hands…sometimes even no bridle.

Cub spent many years in Canada riding English and then moved to Dublin where she rode with the legendary show jumper Iris Kellet. Iris was the winner of the Championship of Europe and was a house-hold name for many decades. Through Iris, Cub learned that a good seat was a prerequisite to being a good jumper and to being a competent rider in any discipline.

The basic core of training at Prairie Oak Ranch is based on the Centered Riding technique. Cub personally learned this philosophy from Sally Swift, who developed the Centered Riding program.

Remember- it is your seat, not your style.
